Email Spam through Forms

If you have a form on your website and have been getting spam email replies then this may be of interest.

After several weeks of research, we have come up with a way to deter this practice using what is called a CAPTCHA™ (an acronym for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart", trademarked by Carnegie Mellon University). It consists of a program that can generate distorted text that most humans can read, but current computer programs can't.

CAPTCHA™ can prevent bot-generated spam by requiring that the sender pass a CAPTCHA™ test before the email message can be delivered. It's not 100% spam proof, but makes it much more difficult. An example of a CAPTCHA™ can be found on ourcontact us page.

Any of our customers that are having problems with this type of spam should let us know, and we will set them up with CAPTCHA™.
